Each year the Lawrence Branch NAACP offers scholarships to Black/African American students graduating from public secondary education schools in Lawrence.

 

Local Opportunities

The Lawrence Branch NAACP offers scholarships to Black/African American students graduating from public secondary education schools in Lawrence. Students who are Lawrence residents, and who plan to attend  ANY ACCREDITED VOCATIONAL OR TECHNICAL  SCHOOL, COLLEGE OR UNIVERSITY are eligible to apply. 

The application process begins in January of each year and the completed applications are due in February.

To apply for the scholarship, check your high school’s website and find the application form.  The form can be filled out online.  Please be sure that you choose the NAACP Application form, which is different from the standard scholarship form.

 As we are a 501(c)(4) organization, contributions or gifts to this NAACP Unit are not deductible as charitable contributions for federal income tax purposes. They are, however, deductible as ordinary business expenses.
